How to apply

Apply make-up with control

Start with a small amount of product on your brush. Gently tap off any excess powder.

Cleaning & storage

Clean your brushes regularly and gently

Make-up residue collects in brush bristles. Regular cleaning helps ensure even colour application and prevents different shades from mixing unintentionally.

  • Dampen the bristles with lukewarm water.
  • Gently work in a mild cleanser.
  • Rinse until the water runs clear.
  • Reshape the bristles and leave the brush to dry lying flat.

Questions about make-up brushes

Which make-up brushes do I need to get started?
A useful starter set includes a larger powder brush, a blusher or contour brush, a firm eyeshadow brush and a soft blending brush. You can add specialist detail brushes as needed.
How often should I clean my make-up brushes?
Brushes used frequently should be cleaned regularly. Those used with cream products or several different colours may need more frequent cleaning than powder brushes used only occasionally.
What is the difference between a firm brush and a soft brush?
A firm brush generally deposits colour more intensely and precisely. A soft brush is better for gently blending edges and distributing product over larger areas.
Why should I dry my brushes lying flat?
When brushes dry upright, water can run into the join between the brush head and handle. Lying them flat is gentler on the brush, particularly when the head extends beyond the edge of a towel.
Can I use one brush for several colours?
Yes, provided you thoroughly remove colour residue between uses. Separate brushes are often more practical for very light and very dark shades.
