My journey with Déesse
It all began with the scent of apricots.
I started my working life in retail. Later, I worked at an advertising agency and helped my husband in his photography studio – in the shop and the office, alongside our family life.
Back then, cosmetics were not a major part of my life. My husband suggested that I learn professional make-up techniques so I could offer clients suitable make-up for their photo shoots.
Around the same time, our son’s godmother visited the photography studio with Déesse Apricot Scrub and Apricot Oil. She treated the team to a hand scrub and massage. I still remember that lovely apricot scent and how good the treatment felt.
That encounter sparked my curiosity – and eventually led to a career that has been part of my life for more than two decades.
My first skincare presentation
My sponsor at the time supported me at my very first introductory event. A friend hosted the evening, and together we introduced the guests to Déesse products.
Every guest could enjoy a hand massage. I had learnt the techniques during a Déesse training session. Seeing how much everyone enjoyed that little moment of relaxation confirmed that I had made the right decision.
How I gained confidence and experience
Training sessions and conversations with other advisers and team leaders helped me become increasingly confident in my consultations. Eventually, I was also able to offer make-up services for photo shoots at the photography studio.
Later, I added bridal and evening make-up, along with colour and personal styling advice. I learnt a great deal about cosmetics, but also about communication, organisation and my own abilities.
People and memorable moments along the way
Over the years, a team of independent advisers grew around me. Sharing ideas, supporting one another and enjoying our work together have always meant a lot to me.
One especially memorable personal milestone was receiving my first Déesse company car. I still remember how proud I felt when I collected it.
Our trips together – including visits to Mauritius, Florida, Andalusia and Thailand – are also among the wonderful memories I associate with my time at Déesse.
