Detox and cell protection: what do they really mean?
What do terms such as detox, antioxidants and cell protection actually mean? Discover how these concepts differ and how to compare Déesse Chlorella products using their specific product information.
Clear information, not sweeping promises
Two terms. Different processes.
“Detoxification” and “cell protection” are often mentioned together, but they describe different processes in the body.
Your organs are responsible for processing and eliminating substances. Antioxidant protection concerns the body's response to reactive compounds.
When choosing a food supplement, its actual formulation therefore matters more than a general term such as “detox”.
The essentials
Understanding detoxification and antioxidant protection
Processing and elimination
Your body has its own systems.
The liver and kidneys play important roles in processing and eliminating substances. This does not automatically mean you need an additional detox programme.
Claims about generally “cleansing” the body cannot be substantiated by an ingredients list alone. Actual poisoning requires medical treatment.
Oxidative stress
Antioxidants serve different purposes.
Antioxidants form part of the body's protective mechanisms against oxidative damage. Vitamins C and E are examples.
That does not mean every alga or plant extract has the same effect. Statements about individual nutrients cannot automatically be applied to an entire formulation.
Everyday habits come first
Sustainable habits rather than short-term detox programmes
Diet and lifestyle remain the foundation. There should be a specific reason for taking a supplement.
Variety on your plate
Vegetables, fruit, wholegrains, pulses and nuts contribute a variety of nutrients to your diet.
Reduce avoidable exposures
Not smoking, avoiding alcohol where possible and allowing enough time to rest are more useful habits than promises to “detox away” exposures afterwards.

Frequently asked questions
Detoxification and Chlorella explained briefly
Do I need regular detox programmes?
There is no general need to take food supplements for regular, overall “detoxification”. Your body has its own systems for processing and eliminating substances.
Does “antioxidant” automatically mean “detoxifying”?
No. Antioxidant protection and the processing or elimination of substances are different processes. The terms should not be treated as interchangeable.
Should I take all three Chlorella products together?
No. Combining them is not automatically beneficial. First compare their formulations and their individual directions for use.
