Different skin types How can I identify my skin type?
- DRY SKIN
- NORMAL SKIN
- COMBINATION SKIN
- OILY SKIN
- ANTI AGEING
Characteristics of dry skin
- Dry skin has fine pores
- it is thin and delicate
- it lacks both moisture and oil
- it is free from blemishes
- often prone to early (dryness) lines, especially around the eyes
- feeling of tightness
This skin type requires both moisture and lipids. Skin conditions such as neurodermatitis or psoriasis can promote dryness. Dry skin tends to redness and develops wrinkles more quickly. It appears uneven and may have rough patches. With dry skin, it’s important to start a proper skincare routine as early as possible to prevent the formation of wrinkles.
Characteristics of normal skin
- fine pores across the entire face
- skin is firm, rosy, and delicate
- free from blemishes (except possibly every four weeks)
- oil and moisture levels are well balanced
- no feeling of tightness
- skin is generally not sensitive
To help it stay beautiful for as long as possible, I recommend careful skincare with mild, non-drying products.
When sebum and moisture are in balance, the skin is referred to as normal skin (eudermic). Normal skin is smooth and fine-pored, and it reacts only mildly to environmental influences. As the skin changes over time, normal skin is most commonly found in younger people.
Characteristics of combination skin
- T-zone (forehead, nose, chin) is oily to slightly greasy
- large pores, possibly blemishes
- cheek area: fine pores, normal to dry
- frequent feeling of tightness
- visible red capillaries
- In oily areas, the skin has enlarged pores, while in dry areas it can become irritated and sensitive. Proper, balanced care is essential for combination skin.
Characteristics of oily skin types 1 & 2
Oily Skin Type 1
- Oily skin has large pores extending to the ears
- it appears shiny, greasy, and moist
- prone to blemishes across the entire face
- poor blood circulation, often giving a pale or greyish tone
- coarse and robust texture
- no feeling of tightness
- oily skin typically shows impurities
Oily skin tends to develop blemishes, most commonly on the face but sometimes also on the upper shoulders and back. The skin’s natural sebum, which helps keep it supple and protected, is overproduced. However, there are several ways to improve the complexion of oily skin.
Oily Skin Type 2 with Dryness
- Large pores with blemishes
- feeling of tightness despite being oily
- flaky areas
- visible red capillaries
- often highly sensitive
Note: This skin type is often mistaken for dry skin and requires special care and attention!
Characteristics of mature skin
- loss of collagen and wrinkle formation
- low moisture and oil levels
- slack connective tissue
- slight feeling of tightness
- tendency to visible red capillaries
- prone to pigmentation issues (age spots)

HOW TO DO IT:

- CLEANSING – WITH WHAT?
Begin your cleansing ritual with the 2-Phase Eye Make-up Remover. It combines oil and water – shake well before use to allow both components to blend. Alternatively, the Eye Make-up Remover sensitive is suitable – a gentle cleansing milk for particularly delicate eyes.
Soak two cotton pads with the remover, place them on closed eyes for a few seconds and then gently wipe outwards. This effortlessly removes make-up – without rubbing or stinging.
Carefully remove any remainin
Remove Make-up in the Evening
Anyone who applies make-up in the morning should also remove it carefully in the evening – it’s not optional, but an essential part of proper skincare. Nevertheless, many women do not use an eye make-up remover, even though mascara and eyeliner are used daily.
If make-up removal is regularly neglected, it can lead to clogged pores, brittle eyelashes and irritated eyes. Residues of make-up can irritate the delicate eye area and often cause redness or small inflammations.
Therefore, the rule is: thorough yet gentle make-up removal protects the skin and eyes and ensures a well-groomed, fresh appearance – day after day.
Morning Routine
Even in the morning, after sleep, the skin must be thoroughly cleansed before applying day cream as well as new make-up or powder. During the night, the skin “works” – skin cells are renewed. The perspiration produced overnight must be washed off in the morning.
Good to know: At night, the skin has better circulation, cell damage is repaired, and moisture can be retained more effectively.
Did you know that high-quality skincare products can only unfold their full effect on thoroughly cleansed skin? You wouldn’t put away a greasy frying pan without washing it – and likewise, skincare should never be applied to uncleansed skin. Only when the skin is free from dirt, sebum and make-up can the Déesse skincare products optimally WORK with their active ingredients.
For effective facial cleansing, it is essential to use products tailored to your skin type. Dry skin loves a cleansing milk in combination with a gentle facial toner. Normal skin benefits from the cleansing oil and the facial toner with Aloe Vera. For combination skin, the cleansing gel together with the balancing facial toner is recommended, while oily skin is best cared for with the cleansing foam and tonic from the His & Hers line.
Thorough cleansing is important not only in the evening but also in the morning – to gently remove excess sebum and dead skin cells, and to perfectly prepare the skin for further care.
