Body care in winter
Body lotion or body cream
In winter it is time to adjust your care accordingly. Since the skin's sebum production decreases as temperatures drop, it now usually requires care with a higher lipid content. However, that doesn't mean that everyone, regardless of their skin type, have to go for the richest texture.
Adjustments
Instead, I recommend simply switching to a cream of the next higher “level” first. For a better overview, I have summarized a list of body lotions and creams, starting with the lightest or the one with the lowest lipid content.
Care creams from the cosmetic lines
Body Expert Firming body cream
Apricot Body emulsion
Body lotion with almond oil
My Secret Body butter
Nourishing Body butter Apricot
Nourishing Body butter Almond oil
medium lipid content
Köperlotion mit MandelölBody lotion with almond oil
convinces with almond oil, vitamins, minerals and unsaturated fatty acids. This lotion is just right for anyone who wants to care for their skin and at the same time be enveloped in the pleasant scent of sweet almond. For a soft feeling on the skin.
high lipid content
MY SECRET body butter
In addition to nourishing shea and cocoa butter, the body butter contains valuable evening primrose oil. Urea is an ideal ally in the fight against dry skin: it is a natural moisturizing factor and as such helps to store moisture in the top layer of the skin and thus regulate the skin's moisture balance.
high lipid content
Apricot body butter
As with the other products in the Apricot line the aroma of the velvety summer fruit dominates here too. In addition to moisturizing cocoa, shea and mango butter, apricot kernel oil also ensures the high lipid content. The initially solid texture melts immediately upon contact with the skin and is therefore easy to spread.
hoher Lipidgehalt
Facial care in winter
In winter, your facial skin needs special care to protect it from the challenges of cold temperatures, dry air and wind. Here are some tips for effective facial care in winter:
1. Moisturize: The cold air in winter is often dry, which can cause the skin to dry out. Therefore, use moisturizing products such as creams or serums that contain hydrating ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, glycerin or ceramides to provide your skin with sufficient moisture.
2. Protection from wind and cold: In cold and windy weather, apply a protective cream or a rich moisturizing balm to protect your skin from aggressive external influences. These products create a protective barrier and prevent moisture from escaping the skin.
3. Gentle cleansing: Use mild, moisturizing cleansing products that won't dry out your skin. Avoid showers or baths that are too hot, as hot water can further dry out the skin.
4. Exfoliation: Regular exfoliation removes dead skin cells and promotes cell renewal, which is particularly important in winter to prevent dry, flaky skin. However, choose gentle exfoliants to avoid irritating your skin.
5. Sunscreen: Sun protection is also important in winter, as the sun's UV rays can cause damage to the skin all year round. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with a high sun protection factor to protect your skin from premature aging and other damage.
6. Healthy diet and enough water: A balanced diet and enough water help to care for your skin from the inside out and provide it with important nutrients that are important for its health and radiance.
- Mild cleaning
- Rich day care
- Eye cream
- Sun protection
- Winterstick SPF 30
Start with cleansing that is as gentle as possible so that it doesn't dry out the skin any further. A combination of cleansing oil and Mild facial toner.
In winter, you can use a cream with a higher fat content than your usual skin care routine to compensate for the reduced sebum production. For example, the Alpine Concept Day Cream.
The bright light often causes us to squint. In addition to high-quality ski goggles with UV protection, an intensively nourishing eye cream should not be missing from your repertoire - such as the Alpine Concept eye zone cream.
The increased UV exposure in the mountains should definitely be reflected in the SPF you choose. The Face cream SPF 30 cares for and protects at the same time.
It's not just the skin that needs adequate sun protection and care, our lips too. The Winter stick SPF 30 is a true all-rounder. This not only protects against harmful UV radiation and the associated premature aging of the skin, but also against the cold thanks to its water-free formulation.
Care in winter sports
The colder it gets, the less sebum the skin produces, making it drier and less resistant to external influences. This also includes UV radiation, which increases in higher altitudes (approx. 15% per 1000 meters) and is also reflected by ice and snow.
If you then frequently switch between the cold air on the slopes and the warm, dry air in the hut, even the most robust skin will eventually become irritated, especially on the face and hands.
- The Sun face cream as well as the Winter stick SPF 30 are a MUST for every skier
- The rich Hand butter is also available in a small form, suitable for every winter jacket pocket
Always with you on the go
Cleansing for hands
If you have particularly sensitive hands, put a small bottle of LRO or one of our other pH skin-neutral L-shower concentrates to clean your hands as gently as possible.
The soap that is offered in public toilets or in restaurants is often anything but gently.
Rich hand cream
When it's cold, the skin needs an extra dose of care, so apply a lot of cream. The Wellness Rich Hand Butter is ideal for winter. However, if you have to take off your gloves often during the day, you should use hand cream with UV protection: Apricot hand cream.
